Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberg), the Philadelphia high school science teacher, and his wife Alma (Zooey Deschanel) travel towards the Pennsylvania farmlands. They are accompanied by Elliot’s math teacher friend Julian (John Leguizamo) and his 8 year-old daughter Jess (Ashlyn Sanchez).

Most of the American cities have been hit by total breakdown of mankind’s behavior for some unknown reasons and hence the reason why Elliot along with others is looking for a safe place. Soon they realize that no one is safe from the crisis no matter wherever they were. Elliot somehow starts to understand the reason behind whatever was happening and it depends on him how he saves the existence of humanity.
